Ara Babloyan

He served as the Minister of Health of the Republic of Armenia from 1991 to 1997, and has been the Head of the Department of Pediatric Surgery at Yerevan State Medical University (YSMU) since 1997. He is one of the founding leaders of the "Arabkir" Medical Centre and was a member of the World Health Organization (WHO) Executive Board (2008–2012).

From 2007 to 2018, he was a Member of the National Assembly of Armenia and Chairman of the Standing Committee on Healthcare, and served as the President of the National Assembly of Armenia from 2017 to 2018.

He is the author of 215 scientific articles, 7 monographs, and 3 inventions. He has been awarded the 2nd Degree Order "For Services to the Fatherland" and the French Order of National Merit ("Knight/Officier de l'Ordre National du Mérite").
